The second Ahaban Mobile Shelter Program took place on the 16th September, 2017 at the Ebenezer Presby Church Osu. The program comprised of medical screening, food and clothes donation exercise for a total number of 200 children.
The program started at 10:30am with a health talk on Cervical Cancer by a representative from the Ghana Cervical Cancer Ambassadors. This also included a talk on personal hygiene and hygiene in relation to the environment.
This was followed by a Malaria Health Screening Session. This had the children going through various stages of the screening process. The details of the children were first recorded, this included their names, height and weight. After this, blood samples from the children were taken. This was to determine their malaria status. As a bonus, vitals of the children were taken to ensure they were not only malaria free but healthy as well.
Clothes were donated to the kids as well as food, drinks, water and entertainment were provided as well.
The entire event came to end at 5pm.
