#GreenAtHeart – Eminem Helps Raise Money For Manchester Terrorist Attack Victims

Eminem comes through for Manchester. The self-proclaimed “bad guy who makes fun of people that die” continues to prove that there’s a heart of gold behind the Slim Shady persona.

Marshall Mathers took a break from (hopefully) working on his new album to pledge an undisclosed amount toward the the JustGiving page set up to assist families hurt by the recent act of terror that occurred in Manchester at the top of the week during an Ariana Grande concert has put the entire world on notice, with ISIS claiming responsibility for the bombing that left 22 adults and children dead and more than 100 injured.

Taking to his sparsely used Twitter account, Marshall Mathers showed his humane side by urging his 20-million-strong following to donate through the British Red Cross as well the Manchester News Desk.

“Join me in helping Manchester victims & their families, Make a donation to the @BritishRedCross and @MENnewsdesk,” Slim Shady tweeted as the outlined goal of £2,000,000 ($2,562,650 USD) had been set.

The total currently stands at more than £1.6m and is part of a pot now totalling £4.1m after being merged into the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, set up with the Red Cross and the council.

On a side note, Ariana Grande herself returned to social media to reveal she will be returning to the city for a benefit concert. “I’ll be returning to the incredibly brave city of Manchester to spend time with my fans and to have a benefit concert in honor of and to raise money for the victims and their families,” she tweeted.

#GreenAtHeart – Nicki Minaj Has Been Quietly Donating Money To A Village In India

Nicki Minaj has continued to highlight her philanthropic work, sharing details on Instagram of her continued donations to a village in India over the past few years.

“This is the kind of thing that makes me feel the most proud,” Minaj wrote on Instagram. “The money I’ve sent to this village in India for the last couple years [via my Pastor Lydia Sloley], has gotten them a Computer Center, a Tailoring Institute, a Reading Program and 2 WATER WELLS. We complain about the most ridiculous little things when some ppl don’t even have clean water. Blessings to India. Our work is far from done.”

Another post showed a group of women praying, and Minaj wrote, “I’m so proud of our sisters in India. God is so good. Their desire was to have water wells & places where they can worship, places where they can learn technology, computers, reading, etc. We’re just getting started. These women are us and we are them!”

The Queens native recently offered financial help for students struggling with loan payments and announced plans to launch a charity to support students with similar debt and tuition burdens.

#GreenAtHeart – Stormzy donated a huge amount of money to UK student’s Harvard fund

A UK student is one of very few to have been accepted into the prestigious Harvard University over in America, but she faces a pretty big problem: the fee is way too expensive.

Fiona Asiedu needed a total of £14,000 to enroll over there and take on her Masters course in Human Development and Psychology, but looked set to hit slightly short of the mark.

That was until one Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Junior donated £9000 this Monday morning. Fans will recognise this as Stormzy’ real name.

A class of touch from one of our scene’s brightest stars, doing some good for those who idolise him. Big up Big Mike!

French Montana Starts Fundraising Campaign to Build Maternity Centers in Uganda

A few weeks ago, French Montana and Swae Lee headed to Kampala, Uganda to film their “Unforgettable” video. In the footage, you can see the locals bust out their best moves for the cameras:

While he was in Uganda for the shoot, French met a local advocate and (as a result) he pledged to build a maternity center in the East African nation. Furthermore, he has put together a global initiative to help raise funds for future maternity centers across the country.

So far, he has donated $100,000 to Mama Hope to build an expansion for the Suubi “Hope” Health Center in the rural village of Budando. He’s also encouraging both his peers, friends, and fans to do the same.

His partnership with Mama Hope has also led to him continuing his #UnforgettableDanceChallenge in an effort to get money for ambulances, premature incubators, cribs, and a blood bank (in addition to the aforementioned construction of the Suubi “Hope” Health Center expansion). Other stars, including Drake, DJ Khaled, and Diddy, have already taken their shot at it. The tally of participants is currently at over 50,000 #UnforgettableDanceChallenges around the world and counting.

#GreenAtHeart – Lionel Messi funds construction of 20 new classrooms in Syria

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has funded the construction of 20 classrooms in war-torn Syria.

The donation was made to Unicef through the Argentine’s Leo Messi Foundation and has allowed more than 1,600 children to continue to be educated in “adequately furnished classrooms” according to Spanish sports daily Marca.

The classrooms are also fully equipped with solar panels to provide the children with the best possible learning environment despite the on-going conflict in the country, which has lasted six years.

According to the report, more than 60 per cent of the children attending the schools financed by Messi have lost or been removed from their homes because of all the fighting.

Messi, who is widely considered, along with Cristiano Ronaldo, to be the greatest player to kick a football, has been an ambassador for Unicef since 2010 and has previously called for an end to the war in Syria, calling it “heartbreaking”.
